A lift pass is required only for riding the ski lifts/gondolas—no admission ticket is needed to enter the resort. Lift passes can be purchased online through the resort's official website or at the ticket counter.

Note: Beginners do not need to purchase a lift pass in advance. Your instructor will advise you when you're ready to use the lifts, and you can purchase your pass at that time.

Kiroro Ticket Office

During the ski season, Kiroro Snow World offers a paid shuttle bus service between Otaru city and the ski resort, and some accommodation packages also include transfers from New Chitose Airport or Sapporo. Guests staying at Kiroro Grand or Yu Kiroro can easily travel between the hotel, cable car station, and Mountain Center using the resort's walking paths and shuttle facilities.

Note: Some shuttle buses require advance booking. Please check with your accommodation or bus operator for the latest schedule and booking arrangements before departure.

Transport

Guests can reserve equipment through Kiroro official website from October and collect it at the official rental shop the afternoon before or on the day of their lesson. Simply present your reservation confirmation at pickup. Rental staff will prepare the correct equipment based on your size, and Visnow instructors will ensure it is properly fitted before the lesson.

Note: Helmets are mandatory for all lessons.

Kiroro Rental Shop

Kiroro guests primarily stay at Yu Kiroro, Kiroro Grand, and hotels in the surrounding Otaru city area.

Beginner practice areas and runs are mainly concentrated near the Mountain Center, while Yu Kiroro and Kiroro Grand offer convenient access to gondolas and the main ski areas.

Note: The resort has walking paths and shuttle facilities, and all accommodations are conveniently located for access to the ski resort.

Accommodation

VISOUL, a professional photography team based in Hokkaido, specializes in portraits, couples, and family photos. Unlike standard candid photography, our photographers provide posing and styling guidance for beautifully curated images.

Our Trainer

School trainer qualifications

Bryn is an SBINZ (Snowboard Instructors of New Zealand) Level 3 certified instructor. SBINZ instructors who can reach Level 3 and higher are among the few in the world, which means that they have reached strict standards in snowboarding techniques, teaching ability and professional assessment.

In addition to the New Zealand system, Bryn has also participated in CASI training, becoming familiar with both the Canadian and New Zealand international teaching systems. This allows him to integrate the strengths of different systems and establish a more comprehensive and efficient teaching approach.

As a training officer at Visnow School, Bryn is responsible for setting teaching standards and instructor training systems. She also directly participates in instructor training and internal assessments, continuously monitoring teaching quality to ensure that every instructor maintains a consistent and high level of professional performance, providing students with a safe, systematic, and trustworthy skiing learning experience.

If you've never skied before, you definitely need to schedule lessons. If you can already connect turns, do snowplow turns, control your speed, and stop safely, you've passed the beginner stage. It's up to you whether you want to continue taking lessons, but if you want to improve your skills and challenge more difficult slopes, it's definitely a wise move to find a professional coach to help you.You can browse Visnow's ski lessons to learn more.

For beginners, it is a little easier to stand steady and have a sense of balance when skiing with a double board, because your feet are separated, so you can control the direction more naturally, and you may get the hang of it faster in the first few days. For snowboard skiing, because your feet are fixed on the same board, you may fall more often when you are a beginner, but once you have mastered the basic movements, your progress will be faster and smoother.So if you prefer a more stable start or only have a day or half a day to learn skiing, skiing may be suitable for you; but if you like challenges and have more than a day, and also yearn for a smoother feeling of movement later, snowboarding may be more attractive to you.But the best way is to try both so you can find the one that suits you best!

If you only ski for one day, you can usually learn:Balance and Stance : Learn how to stand on the board correctly and find balance.Gliding and Stopping : Learn how to glide and use the rear brake to stop.A basic understanding of turning techniques : You will begin to try to learn how to turn, but it may not be smooth enough yet.Falling and getting up skills : Since beginners often fall, the coach will also teach you how to fall and get up correctly, which is very important.A one-day course can give you a basic understanding of skiing, so we call the one-day course "Experience Skiing".

Children as young as 3 can try skiing, but 5 is usually a good age to start skiing in ski school. No matter how good you are at skiing, we strongly recommend that you have a professional instructor teach your child so that they can learn the correct techniques in a safe environment, especially when practicing in the beginner area.We also recommend waiting until children are a little older before trying snowboarding, as snowboarding requires a lot of core strength and coordination between the feet, legs and shoulders.
