Santa Present Park currently does not authorize any ski schools to operate at the resort. At present, only authorized Japanese ski schools may offer lessons in Japanese.
To ensure the best interests of our guests, we recommend choosing Asahikawa Kamui and Canmore Ski Resort.

A lift pass is required to ride the chairlifts and gondolas, and must be used to enter the lift gates.

No admission ticket is required to enter the ski resort. Lift passes can be purchased either in advance through the resort's official website or on-site on the day of your visit.

For beginners: We recommend not purchasing a lift pass in advance. Your instructor will assess your ability during the lesson and advise when you're ready to use the lifts.

Kamui Ski Links: The ski resort has the "Rapid Santa Links Line" operated by Dohoku Bus, which connects to and from Asahikawa Station, OMO7 Asahikawa, and other major hotels in the city, as well as Kamui Ski Resort. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the ski resort from the center of Asahikawa, making it ideal for travelers staying in Asahikawa and commuting by bus.

Canmore Ski Village: The ski resort offers a free shuttle bus between Sentopia in Higashikawa and the ski area, a journey of approximately 10 minutes, making it convenient for guests staying in Higashikawa to get to the ski resort. The shuttle bus operates during designated periods; it is recommended to check the latest timetable and operating dates before departure.

Guests are advised to rent equipment from the official ski shops at the ski resorts. At Kamui Ski Resort, ski equipment rentals must be booked in advance through the official website; at Canmore Ski Resort, rentals are available on-site and no prior booking is required.

The staff will arrange the appropriate equipment according to your size, so you don't need to choose it yourself. Visnow instructors will also help confirm that the equipment is worn correctly before the lesson to ensure safety.

Note: Ski helmets are required for the class.

Canmore Ski Village: It is recommended to stay in a hotel or guesthouse in the Higashikawa area to make it convenient to use the free shuttle bus provided by the ski resort.

Bryn is an SBINZ (Snowboard Instructors of New Zealand) Level 3 certified instructor. SBINZ instructors who can reach Level 3 and higher are among the few in the world, which means that they have reached strict standards in snowboarding techniques, teaching ability and professional assessment.

In addition to the New Zealand system, Bryn has also participated in CASI training, becoming familiar with both the Canadian and New Zealand international teaching systems. This allows him to integrate the strengths of different systems and establish a more comprehensive and efficient teaching approach.

As a training officer at Visnow School, Bryn is responsible for setting teaching standards and instructor training systems. She also directly participates in instructor training and internal assessments, continuously monitoring teaching quality to ensure that every instructor maintains a consistent and high level of professional performance, providing students with a safe, systematic, and trustworthy skiing learning experience.

It's up to you whether you want to continue taking lessons, but if you want to improve your skills and challenge more difficult slopes, it's definitely a wise move to find a professional coach to help you.You can browse Visnow's ski lessons to learn more.

For beginners, it is a little easier to stand steady and have a sense of balance when skiing with a double board, because your feet are separated, so you can control the direction more naturally, and you may get the hang of it faster in the first few days. For snowboard skiing, because your feet are fixed on the same board, you may fall more often when you are a beginner, but once you have mastered the basic movements, your progress will be faster and smoother.So if you prefer a more stable start or only have a day or half a day to learn skiing, skiing may be suitable for you; but if you like challenges and have more than a day, and also yearn for a smoother feeling of movement later, snowboarding may be more attractive to you.But the best way is to try both so you can find the one that suits you best!

If you only ski for one day, you can usually learn:Balance and Stance : Learn how to stand on the board correctly and find balance.Gliding and Stopping : Learn how to glide and use the rear brake to stop.A basic understanding of turning techniques : You will begin to try to learn how to turn, but it may not be smooth enough yet.Falling and getting up skills : Since beginners often fall, the coach will also teach you how to fall and get up correctly, which is very important.A one-day course can give you a basic understanding of skiing, so we call the one-day course "Experience Skiing".

Children as young as 3 can try skiing, but 5 is usually a good age to start skiing in ski school. No matter how good you are at skiing, we strongly recommend that you have a professional instructor teach your child so that they can learn the correct techniques in a safe environment, especially when practicing in the beginner area.We also recommend waiting until children are a little older before trying snowboarding, as snowboarding requires a lot of core strength and coordination between the feet, legs and shoulders.
